i never want to forget how this felt/ another sigur ros post

Soon after I went ALL THE WAY TO CANADA to see my favorite band ever Sigur Ros perform, they added a Nashville date to their tour. So naturally, I bought a ticket. I had no plans to go with anyone, because I didn't think I knew anyone that was going. I was prepared to go alone if I had to. And those of you that know me well know I have a little bit of social anxiety. But I was determined not to let that stop me! Lucky for me, I found out my good friend Melanie was going too, so we went together. We got there early because I wanted to have a good view this time.
The thing about going to shows is.... I'm getting old. I have no tolerance for people elbowing their way in front of me when I've obviously been there longer. I will straight up cut someone if they do that to me. In fact, there were about three tall someones I was ready to cut by the time the band came out. But I think the Sigur Ros angels were looking down on me, because pretty soon after the band started, I ended up having a perfect view. And because I was SO HAPPY to be there, I didn't even care that the obnoxious 22ish year old girl who obviously hadn't showered in days kept bumping into me while she was hippie dancing. I was just so full of joy that nothing could ruin my experience. Even hippie dancers.
Seeing Sigur Ros in Nashville was an entirely different experience than I had in Canada. First of all, it was actually dark at their Nashville show. Which made the lights much more impressive. Secondly, since their newest album came out after the Canada show, they played more of the new songs in Nashville. So I got to see them perform old Sigur Ros in Canada and mostly new songs in Nashville. So, that was awesome, obviously. Thirdly, Jonsi just seemed to be happier in Nashville. He talked more, and even encouraged the crowd to sing along at a certain part of one of the songs. And also, he looked straight at me with one of his eyes and smiled.
Seriously, I'm in love with Jonsi. He makes me feel things I've never felt before. What their music does to me... I just can't explain it. It takes me to a place where everything is perfect. And man, can they rock out at the same time.
Here are some pictures from the Nashville show....
